MiLB Recaps: Fields Leads Lakeland

AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Gwinnett 10, Toledo 5
19-20, 3rd in West Division

Thad Weber had a rough outing as the Mud Hens dropped their game to Gwinnett 10-5 on Monday afternoon. Weber went six innings but gave up seven runs on 11 hits. Fu-Te Ni relieved him but didn't fare any better, giving up four more runs (three earned) in the final two innings. At the plate, Deik Scram went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run while Ben Guez went 2-for-3 including a triple and drove in a run. Will Rhymes also reached base three times and scored once.

AA Erie Seawolves - OFF DAY
16-19, 6th in Western Division

The SeaWolves had Monday off but are back in action on Tuesday at home against Trenton with Casey Crosby taking the mound.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 7, Charlotte 2
19-19, 4th in North Division

Behind a big game from Daniel Fields, the Flying Tigers picked up a 7-2 win over Charlotte on Monday. Fields, hitting in the leadoff slot in the game, went 3-for-4 with a double, scored once and drove in three runs. He helped set the table for the offense to stake Cole Nelson to a 6-2 lead by the time he exited. Nelson got the win, giving up two runs in 6 2/3 innings of work. He also walked three and struck out two. Ryan Robowski was excellent in relief, not allowing a run or hit in the final 2 1/3 innings, including five strikeouts. In addition to Fields, Ryan Soares belted a two run homer while Jeff Kunkel added three hits including a triple and scored three times.

A West Michigan Whitecaps - OFF DAY
15-20, 7th in Eastern division

The Whitecaps had a scheduled off day on Monday, but return to action at home on Tuesday against Bowling Green with Jeff Ferrell on the mound.
