AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Durham 2, Toledo 1
46-57, 4th in West Division
Despite another strong start from Fu-Te Ni, the Hens lost to Durham 2-1. Ni got the loss, his first of the year, but gave up just two runs in seven innings of work. He also walked two and struck out six. Jose Ortega pitched the final two innings, not allowing a run and striking out three. Toledo went just 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position. Danny Worth went 2-for-3 with a double and scored the team's only run. Scott Thorman also added a double and Max St. Pierre had two hits in the loss.
AA Erie Seawolves - Erie 4, Akron 3
47-54, 5th in Western Division
Deik Scram belted a walk-off two run homer as Erie beat Akron. Ramon Garcia got the start, giving up no runs in five innings of work with three strikeouts. Robbie Weinhardt also tossed a pair of scoreless innings. Austin Wood picked up both a blown save and a win for allowing three Akron runs after coming in with the lead, but being the pitcher of record when Scram belted his walk-off shot. Audy Ciriaco also added a hit, a run and an RBI and Ben Guez drove in a run.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Jupiter 4, Lakeland 0
12-16, 6th in North Division
A losing skid has suddenly dropped Lakeland into last place in the FSL North as they lost to Jupiter again 4-0. Jared Wesson took the loss, giving up three runs in five innings. Tyler White tossed two scoreless innings, while Luke Putkonen allowed a run in an inning. The offense managed eight hits but couldn't get a run across the plate; Corey Jones went 3-for-4 with a double while Wade Gaynor added a pair of hits.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 6, Clinton 4
16-13, t-4th in Eastern division
Victor Larez got the start and the win for the Whitecaps, giving up two runs in six innings with four strikeouts. Melvin Mercedes did allow a pair of runs in an inning, but Nate Newman tossed two shutout innings to close the game out and pick up the save. Nick Castellanos went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Luis Sanz also went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI, and Luis Castillo added three hits, scoring a run and driving in another.
SS-A Connecticut Tigers - Williamsport 5, Connecticut 3
16-19, 2nd in Stedler Division
Connecticut fell to Williamsport 5-3. Matt Crouse got the start, giving up two runs in three innings with four strikeouts. Scott Green took the loss, allowing a pair of runs in his one inning of relief. Dean Green had two hits and drove in two runs, while Chad Wright added a double, a run and an RBI.
