AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Toledo 6, Durham 2
47-57, 4th in West Division
Adam Wilk got the start and the win, giving up two runs (one earned) in 5 2/3 innings of work, with no walks and six strikeouts. Brendan Wise went 2 1/3 innings without allowing a hit or a run and striking out four as well. Will Rhymes went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, while Jeff Kunkel added a solo home run. Jeff Salazar also added two hits including a double and drove in a run, and Casper Wells ripped a triple and drove in a run too.
AA Erie Seawolves - Richmond 3, Erie 2
47-55, 5th in Western Division
Jacob Turner was outstanding despite another close loss for Erie. Turner went eight innings, allowing three runs on seven hits with a walk and eight strikeouts. Luis Marte pitched the final inning. Jamie Johnson had an RBI for the club, while Audy Ciriaco added two hits and scored twice.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 1, Palm Beach 0
13-16, 6th in North Division
Drew Smyly let a shutout bid for the Flying Tigers as he went seven innings and allowed just two hits and two walks while reaching ten strikeouts. Cole Nelson and Matt Little then combined to complete the shutout, with Little earning the save. Wade Gaynor went 2-for-3 and drove in Brent Wyatt for the club's only run.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - Clinton 4, West Michigan 3
16-14, t-4th in Eastern division
Kevin Eichhorn got the start but not the loss for the Whitecaps, as he went 6 2/3 innings, allowing three runs with four strikeouts. Clemente Mendoza got the loss in relief for allowing the game winning run. Clay Jones went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Hernan Perez added two hits and a run driven in.
SS-A Connecticut Tigers - Williamsport 4, Connecticut 3
16-20, 3rd in Stedler Division
Thomas Collier got the start for the CT-Tigers and took a no decision, tossing five shutout innings with a walk and five strikeouts. Jeff Barfield got the loss for getting roughed up in relief, allowing four runs on five hits while recording just two outs. Patrick Leyland had three hits and two runs driven in, while Dean Green went 3-for-4 with a double and a run driven in.
R GCL Tigers - Phillies 3, Tigers 0
12-19, 5th in North Division
Brian Stroud got the start and the loss but pitched well for the GCL Tigers, giving up a run on four hits in six innings. Cody Satterwhite also tossed a scoreless inning of relief with a pair of strikeouts. The offense scattered just five singles on the day.
R DSL Tigers - Tigers 8, Blue Jays 5
17-29, 3rd in DSL SPM Division
The DSL Tigers used six pitchers and somehow got a win despite their starter not making it out of the first inning. Yoel Espinal got the start and gave up four runs in 2/3 of an inning. Harold Rosario tossed 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief as he earned the win, while four more pitchers held their own, with Jose Valdez pitching the ninth to earn the save. Javier Romero had two hits and drove in two runs, while Felix Santana went 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Samuel Crafort also had a double, scored twice and drove in a run.
R VSL Tigers - Rays 7, Tigers 2
22-36, 6th in VSL
Eduardo Rojas got the start for the club, giving up two runs (one earned) in five innings. Junior Camaripano took the loss, giving up three runs in 2 1/3 innings. Orvin Tovar went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
