August 3rd Games

AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Off Day
52-60, 4th in West Division

AA Erie Seawolves - Erie 3, New Britain 2
53-57, 5th in Western Division

A strong start from Casey Crosby and another walk-off home run, this time from Brent Wyatt, led to a win. Crosby went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He also walked three and struck out four. Luis Marte earned the win in relief though for tossing two shutout innings and being the pitcher of record when Wyatt belted his homer. Jamie Johnson also went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored and Rawley Bishop had two hits including a double and an RBI.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Daytona 4, Lakeland 3
16-21, 6th in North Division

Trevor Feeney got the start, allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings with three walks and seven strikeouts. However, the bullpen couldn't hold the lead as Kenny Faulk allowed the tying run to score that he inherited, and Luke Putkonen gave up the winning run to take the loss. Rob Brantly had a big game, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three RBI total. William Bergolla added two hits and scored a run as well.

A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 9, Dayton 6
20-18, t-4th in Eastern division

Kyle Ryan got the start and took the loss for the 'Caps, giving up three runs in six innings of work with a walk and five strikeouts. Clemente Mendoza and Michael Torrealba each tossed a scoreless inning of relief, with Torrealba working out of a bases loaded jam, but the offense couldn't make a comeback. Hernan Perez ripped a pair of doubles and scored once, and Ryan Hamme added a double and an RBI.

SS-A Connecticut Tigers - Postponed: Rain
19-24, 2nd in Stedler Division

Connecticut and Auburn were rained out on Wednesday; they'll make it up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday.

R GCL Tigers - Tigers 10, Braves 0
17-22, 4th in North Division

Jake Sabol pitched well in Lakeland's 10-0 rout of the Braves. Sabol got the win and tossed seven shutout innings with no walks and six strikeouts. Emmanuel Del Orbe and Tyler Clark each tossed an inning of relief to complete the shutout. Juaner Aguasvivas ripped a two run homer, while Wes Thigpen added two doubles and an RBI. Derrick Hudgins also had a hit, a run and drove in two.

R DSL Tigers - Postponed: Rain
18-35, 3rd in DSL SPM Division

R VSL Tigers - Pirates 16, Tigers 4
27-40, 6th in VSL

Carlos Alvarado took the loss, giving up six runs in four innings of work. Junior Camaripano had a rough go of it as well, giving up seven runs in a single inning. Carlos Perez and Jose Soledad each had a hit, a run and an RBI, while Daniel Carranza and Jhosua Montero each had an RBI as well.
