AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Lehigh Valley 2, Toledo 1
57-65, 4th in West Division
The Mud Hens were supposed to play a doubleheader on Sunday but the second game with Lehigh Valley was suspended before it was completed. In the first game, Thad Weber and Brayan Villarreal each tossed three shutout innings. David Purcey allowed an unearned run in his two innings to first lose the lead, which the Hens got back, only to see Enrique Gonzalez lose it again for good in the bottom of the ninth. Jeff Salazar drove in Clete Thomas for the club's only run. Timo Perez also reached base four times, with two walks, a single and a double.
AA Erie Seawolves - Portland 9, Erie 5
57-63, 5th in Western Division
Casey Crosby started and pitched well, allowing three runs (two earned) on two hits in with three walks and six strikeouts in five innings of work. However, Tyler Stohr struggled in relief, giving up four runs to take the loss; Rob Waite and Austin Wood also each allowed another run. At the plate, Audy Ciriaco had a double and a triple and drove in a run. Bryan Pounds also added a double and an RBI, while Jamie Johnson had a double and scored twice.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 6, Brevard County 2
21-27, 6th in North Division
Lakeland was also supposed to play a doubleheader but the second game was cancelled due to weather. In the first game, Trevor Feeney got the win, allowing two runs in six innings of work with no walks and six strikeouts. Matt Little pitched the final inning of the seven inning game to wrap up the win. Tony Plagman belted a two run homer for the club, while Rob Brantly went 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBI. Jordan Lennerton also had two hits including a double, scored twice and drove in one.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 3, Great Lakes 2
26-23, t-5th in Eastern division
With a run in the top of the ninth, the Whitecaps pulled out a 3-2 victory. Alex Burgos got the start, giving up a run on five hits in six innings of work with three walks and four strikeouts. Kevan Hess allowed a run in his two innings to blow the save, but also got credit for the win when Ryan Hamme singled home Dixon Machado for the go-ahead run. Jade Todd pitched the ninth to earn the save. Jeff Rowland also belted a two run homer for the club.
