AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Indianapolis 9, Toledo 1
65-73, 4th in West Division
A close game got away at the end as Toledo lost 9-1. Fu-Te Ni got the start and the loss, but pitched well, allowing two runs in seven innings with no walks and eight strikeouts. However, with the score at 2-1, Brayan Villarreal entered and struggled, giving up seven runs over the final two innings to allow the game to get blown open. Timo Perez had a hit and drove in Andy Dirks for the club's only run. Jeff Salazar also had two hits, and Carlos Guillen went 1-for-3 with a double in his first rehab appearance.
AA Erie Seawolves - Binghamton 7, Erie 5
65-70, 5th in Western Division
Casey Crosby had a rough start as the SeaWolves fell 7-5. He allowed five runs on seven hits in 2 1/3 innings of work. Luis Marte had an impressive outing though, tossing 3 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, and more notably, striking out ten of his 11 outs. At the plate, Rawley Bishop and Bryan Holaday each had a solo home run, while Michael Rockett and Brent Wyatt each also drove in a run.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Clearwater 9, Lakeland 3
24-36, 6th in North Division
Brenny Paulino made his first start of the year with Lakeland but it didn't go as hoped as he gave up eight runs off three hits and four walks in just 2 1/3 innings. Tyler White did come on in relief and toss 4 2/3 innings of shutout baseball. At the plate, Corey Jones went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run. Brandon Loy also had a hit, an RBI and a stolen base.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 5, Dayton 1
34-29, t-3rd in Eastern division
The Whitecaps moved into a third place tie in the division with a 5-1 win over Dayton. Kevin Eichhorn got the start and the win, allowing one unearned run in six innings of work. Michael Torrealba then pitched the final three innings without allowing a run to earn his eighth save. Josh Ashenbrenner had a double and drove in two runs, while Curt Casali added a double, an RBI and a run scored.
SS-A Connecticut Tigers - GM1: Connecticut 4, Vermont 3
GM2: Vermont 4, Connecticut 0
34-33, 2nd in Stedler Division
Connecticut split its doubleheader with Vermont on Monday as they are now 0.5 games out of first place in the Stedler. Brennan Smith started the game and tossed four shutout innings, but a delay forced him out. Fernando Celis got the win in relief for tossing two scoreless innings. Dean Green had a two run homer, while P.J. Polk added two hits and scored twice. In the second game, Wilsen Palacios gave up four runs in five innings of work. Scott Green did toss a scoreless inning of relief. The offense managed just one single though in the loss.
