Starter Jay Voss gave up five earned runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings, picking up the loss as the SeaWolves dropped their season-opener. Rawley Bishop led Erie at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI, one run and one walk, while Jordan Lennerton went 0-for-2 but had two sac flies. Rob Waite and Kenny Faulk each gave up one earned run in a total of 1 2/3 innings out of the bullpen.

Tyler Collins went 3-for-4 with two runs scored as the Flying Tigers won their season-opener. Alex Burgos got the start and gave up two earned runs in six innings of work and picking up the win. Burgos allowed four hits and three walks but had five strikeouts. Daniel Fields went 2-for-4 with two RBIs at the top of the lineup. James McCann and Dixon Machado each had two RBIs as well.

Josue Carreno gave up three earned runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings, picking up a loss as the Whitecaps fell in their season-opener. The offensive didn’t help much, recording just four singles and no player had more than one. Eugenio Suarez went 1-for-4 but had three strikeouts. The Whitecaps struck out 11 times as a team. Curt Casali went 0-for-1 with three walks. Luis Angel Sanz threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
