Eldred Homers Twice in Toledo W (4/18 recaps)

Brad Eldred continued to bash the ball, hitting two home runs as the Mud Hens out-slugged Louisville. Eldred went 3-for-6 with two home runs, a double, five RBIs, and three runs scored. He now has seven home runs on the season, which leads the minor leagues. Andrew Oliver got the start and struggled mightily, giving up seven earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. Oliver gave up six hits and continued to have major command issues, walking seven batters. Luke Putkonen gave up one earned run over two innings, but picked up the win because Toledo answered Louisville's six-run fifth with a six-run sixth to take a 12-7 lead. Eric Patterson went 5-for-6 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Ryan Strieby went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, a RBI and two runs scored. Seven Mud Hens had multiple hits as Toledo won its fourth-straight game.

4-8, 6th in Eastern Division

Zack Segovia gave up five earned runs over five innings as he moved to 0-2 on the season. Brandon Douglas went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Rawley Bishop went 2-for-3. The SeaWolves went 0-for-13 with runners in scoring position. Trenton scored all of its runs in two innings, with three in the first and four in the sixth.

High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
5-7, 4th in North Division

The Flying Tigers didn't play Wednesday. They will play Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
7-6, 3rd in Eastern Division

The Whitecaps scored four runs in the top of the ninth for a comeback victory and a sweep. West Michigan loaded the bases with one out in the ninth after a hit-by-pitch and back-to-back walks. Brandon Loy doubled to score two runs, Steven Moya singled another run home and the Loy scored on a wild pitch. Jade Todd earned a win after pitching a perfect eighth inning. Daniel Bennett gave up two hits in the ninth, but picked up his third save. Loy went 3-for-5 two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Danry Vasquez went 2-for-5 with one double and one run scored.
