Brooks Brown gave up three hits and no runs, but only lasted four innings. So Rob Waite filled in with a 7-0 lead and gave up two earned runs in 2 2/3 innings, but was credited with the win. Brad Eldred went 1-for-4 and hit his third home run in two games, finishing with two RBIs and two runs scored. Ryan Strieby went 1-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and a run scored.

4-9, 6th in Eastern Division

Jared Wesson struggled in the start, giving up four earned runs on five hits and five walks in 5 1/3 innings, recording the loss. Jordan Lennerton went 1-for-3 with his sixth home run of the season. Brandon Douglas went 2-for-4. The SeaWolves have lost five games in a row.

High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
6-7, 4th in North Division

The Lakeland offense jumped on Clearwater early and often, scoring two runs in the first and third innings, sandwiched around a three-run second. Wade Gaynor went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Avisail Garcia and James McCann both went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Brian Flynn gave up one unearned run on four hits over seven innings, moving to 3-0 on the season.

Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
7-7, T-3rd in Eastern Division

Tim Kelley gave up seven earned runs in 1 1/3 innings, digging a hole out of which the Whitecaps couldn’t climb. Curt Casali went 1-for-3 with a home run. Eugenio Suarez went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Colin Kaline went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
