AAA Toledo Mud Hens
10-6, T-1st in West Division
With Thad Weber being called up to Detroit, Ramon Garcia started in his place, and it did not go well. Garcia gave up eight runs (six earned) in four innings of work, picking up the loss. Brad Eldred went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Ryan Strieby went 1-for-5 with two RBIs. Danny Worth went 2-for-5 with two doubles. Argenis Diaz pinch-hit and singled, but hurt his ankle sliding into second and left the game. The loss broke Toledo's six-game winning streak.
AA Erie Seawolves
6-9, 5th in Eastern Division
Erie manager Chris Cron picked up his 1,000th career win. James Avery got the start and gave up one earned run over five innings and picked up the win. Tyler Stohr gave up two hits over 1 1/3 scoreless innings and earned his first save of the season. Rob Brantly went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored. Rawley Bishop went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
6-7, 4th in North Division
The Flying Tigers' doubleheader against Clearwater was canceled because of rain. The games will not be made up. Lakeland next plays Sunday at 5:35 p.m.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
7-9, 6th in Eastern Division
Tim Kelley gave up an RBI single in the top of the 12th and picked up the loss. The game had been tied at two since the top of the sixth. Josue Carreno gave up two earned runs over 5 1/3 innings in the start. Eugenio Suarez went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI as the only Whitecap with multiple hits. Aaron Westlake went 1-for-5 with an RBI.
