Gaynor belted a grand slam in his brief Erie stint

In the first full week of May, the SeaWolves found themselves out on the road for six games against Reading and Akron, the two division leaders in the Eastern League. Playing these two clubs back to back would be a tough early season test for the ‘Wolves. Erie fought hard against the two division leaders and bested Reading in a three game series but lost two of three versus Akron.

Battling the Best The club had an almost perfect three game series against the Reading Phillies. The only blemish for the SeaWolves in this series was an 8-9 game one loss. Despite losing this slugfest there was a positive to be had; all but one of Erie's starters had a hit in the game which shows progress at the plate for the SeaWolves as a team.
