Austin Jackson went 0-for-4 in the first game of his rehab assignment, and the Mud Hens were nearly no-hit. Charlotte starter Terry Doyle took a no-hitter into the ninth before Audy Ciriaco led off with a double. On the other side, Andy Oliver was solid, giving up three earned runs over 7 2/3 innings. Oliver allowed five hits and only walked two, while striking out six. Justin Henry singled in Ciriaco as the only other Mud Hen with a hit.

Jared Wesson gave up five runs (four earned) over six-plus innings and dropped to 4-3 on the season. Niuman Romero went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI to lead Erie at the plate. Jordan Lennerton went 2-for-3. Michael Morrison and Zach Samuels combined to pitch three shutout innings out of the bullpen.

Curt Casali went 4-for-5 with three doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored as the Whitecaps won their fifth straight. Brennan Smith gave up one earned run on three hits over four innings in the start. Jeff Ferrell gave up one earned run over two innings, but picked up the win. Despite the 11 runs, Casali was the only Whitecap with multiple hits. Dean Green went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Reinaldo Robles and Edgar Pina combined to give up six runs in the bottom of the ninth for a heartbreaking loss. Robles gave up four earned runs without recording an out. Pina got two outs, but allowed two unearned runs on an error and picked up the loss. Orvin Tovar went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and a run scored. Carlos Perez went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
