Ryan Robowski gave up four runs (three earned) over 2 1/3 innings of relief and picked up the loss. All four runs were scored in the fifth inning. Ryan Strieby went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Audy Ciriaco went 2-for-3 with a double. Matt Hoffman gave up two runs (one earned) over 2 1/3 innings in relief of Robowski.

Patrick Cooper allowed three hits over six scoreless innings to record his first win of the year. Cooper also walked three and struck out four. Niuman Romero went 3-for-4 with a double. Brandon Douglas went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Robbie Weinhardt gave up two earned runs in the bottom of the ninth, but held on for the save.

High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
34-29, T-2nd in North Division

A throwing error with two outs in the top of the 14th allowed Lance Durham to score and the Whitecaps held on for the win. Jeff Ferrell allowed two hits over four scoreless innings in the start, and West Michigan would have to use six more pitchers. Daniel Bennett allowed an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth to get the game to extra innings. Gabriel Purroy went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer, while Jason King went 2-for-6 with a solo home run.
