Jose Ortega allowed three earned runs in the eighth inning and picked up the loss. Ramon Garcia allowed four earned runs over five innings in the start. Danny Dorn went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, while Andy Dirks went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the first game of his rehab stint.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Cesar Carrillo gave up five earned runs over 3 1/3 innings and recorded the loss. Kenny Faulk allowed five earned runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief. At the plate, Corey Jones went 2-for-3 with a double, while Brandon Douglas went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
