On Saturday, the Orioles lost one of their All-Time greats when former manager Earl Weaver passed away while on a cruise.
Earl Weaver had an illustraious career as the manager of the Baltimore Orioles. He spent 17-years total as the Orioles skipper, first from 1968-82 and then again from 1985-1986. In total he finished with a record of 1,480-1060 with five 100-win seasons. He only had one losing season in his managerial career. He led the Orioles to six Eastern Division titles, four American League pennants, and a World Series championship.
Remember by many for his fiery temper and frequest outbursts towards umpires, Weaver was ejected from over 90 games in his career including being ejected from both ends of a doubleheader three times.
Weaver was inducted into Major League Baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1996.
The “Earl of Baltimore” will be remembered forever.
