Robertson No-Hits in 'Caps Win (4/5 Recaps)

On Friday, three of the four clubs lost, with the Whitecaps coming up with the organization's only win of the day, a 6-0 shutout victory. Montreal Robertson led the way on the mound, tossing five innings of no-hit baseball.

Toledo rallied in the ninth inning for a second day in a row but the effort fell short once again as the Mud Hens fell to Louisville in a 6-4 final. Despite striking out six, starter Pat Misch gave up five earned runs in only three innings pitched to earn the loss. A familiar face earned the win on Friday as Armando Galarraga gave up one earned run in five innings while striking out six for Louisville. Center fielder Quintin Berry had a great night offensively, going 2-for-3 while drawing two walks and driving in two runs.

AA Erie Seawolves
1-1, 1st in Eastern Division

Altoona came out of the gate with a three-run first inning on Friday and Erie could not recover as the SeaWolves fell in a 4-1 final. Patrick Cooper lasted only two innings for Erie, surrendering three earned runs on eight hits while striking out two and earning the loss. James McCann scored the only run of the game for the SeaWolves, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
0-2, 4th in North Division

A combination of pitching and fielding mistakes led Lakeland to its second loss in a row last night, falling to Tampa in a 9-2 final. Drew VerHagen gave up three earned runs in 4 1/3 innings pitched for Lakeland, while Jade Todd and Jeff Ferrell combined for five earned runs allowed out of the bullpen. VerHagen earned the loss. Dean Green drove in a run out of the designated hitter spot while Eugenio Suarez drove in the only other RBI for the Flying Tigers.

2-0, 1st in Eastern Division

Pitching was on display for the West Michigan Whitecaps on Friday as starter Montreal Robertson went five innings without giving up a hit, leading the ‘Caps to a 6-0 shutout win over Dayton. First baseman Jeff Holm drove in two runs in the game while Mike Hernandez went 2-for-2 while drawing two walks and driving in one run. Reliever Slade Smith gave up the only hits of the game for West Michigan, surrendering two hits to Dayton while striking out two.
