AAA Toledo Mud Hens
8-21, 4th in West Division
Toledo struggled on the mound late in Friday's game against Charlotte, giving up eight runs in the final four innings as the Mud Hens fell 10-2. Starting pitcher Ramon Garcia fell to 0-2 on the season with the loss, giving up three earned runs on four hits in five innings of work. Kevin Russo and Danny Dorn each drove in runs for Toledo. Avisail Garcia had a strong return from his rehab assignment, going 3-for-4 in the loss.
AA Erie Seawolves
15-11, 1st in Western Division
Erie continued to be offensively dominant on Friday, relying on strong performances from Tyler Collins and Eugenio Suarez as the SeaWolves topped Altoona 6-3. Patrick Cooper earned his first win of the season in the start, giving up two earned runs on three hits in six innings of work. Will Startup earned his fourth save of the season in the win. Collins picked up his sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot on a 1-for-4 night out of the designated hitter spot. Suarez also drove in two runs on a 2-for-5 night in which he also tallied a triple.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
11-15, 5th in North Division
Friday's game against Daytona was postponed due to rain.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
12-14, 4th in Eastern Division
Starting pitching struggled for West Michigan on Friday as the Whitecaps fell to Western Division foe Cedar Rapids 8-6. Starter Endrys Briceno took his second loss of the season, giving up six earned runs on eight hits in six innings of work. Devon Travis continues to be of the best hitters for West Michigan, going 2-for-5 while notching his fifth home run of the season in the loss. Zach Kirksey also drove in two runs in the loss.
