AAA Toledo Mud Hens

Toledo and Lehigh Valley both brought the bats to Monday's game but the Mud Hens did just enough to win, topping the IronPigs 8-6. Starting pitcher Casey Crosby earned a no decision after a short outing, allowing one earned run on three hits over one inning. Robbie Wienhardt improved his record to 2-0 after earning the win in relief while Bruce Rondon earned his fourteenth save of the season. Mike Cervenak and Ben Guez each homered and drove in two runs for the Mud Hens in the win.
AA Erie Seawolves
36-31, 1st in Western Division
Erie did not play on Monday.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
30-36, 5th in North Division
Lakeland held a one-run lead in Monday's game against Brevard County but surrendered two runs in the ninth inning as the Flying Tigers fell to the Manatees 3-2. Wilsen Palacios earned a no decision in the start, allowing one earned run on five hits over seven innings of work while striking out seven. Melvin Mercedes earned his first loss of the season pitching in relief, falling to 3-1 on the season. Chad Wright had the lone RBI in the game for Lakeland, going 2-for-3 in the loss.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
33-37, 4th in Eastern Division
West Michigan did not play on Monday.
A Short-Season Connecticut
0-1, 3rd in Stedler Division
Connecticut was locked in a pitcher's duel in Monday's season opener against Lowell as both teams were held scoreless through eight innings before the Tigers allowed one run in the ninth inning, falling to the Spinners 1-0. Alex Spinner earned a no decision in the start, shutting out Lowell on three hits over 4 ? innings. Brett Huber fell to 0-1 on the season after giving up the go-ahead run in relief. No Connecticut hitter tallied more than one hit, with Austin Schotts going 1-for-4 with a double in the loss.
R VSL Tigers
12-17, 4th in Venezuelan Summer League
The VSL Tigers fell behind by five runs early in Monday's game against the Mariners and could not recover, falling in a 5-2 final. Starting pitcher Anthony Castro fell to 1-1 on the season with the loss, allowing two earned runs on two hits over five innings. Gabriel Tenia led the way offensively for the Tigers, going 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in the loss.
R DSL Tigers
12-2, 1st in Dominican Summer League San Pedro de Macoris
The DSL Tigers jumped out to a 7-0 in the first inning of Monday's game against the Braves and never looked back, doubling up the Braves 14-7. Starting pitcher Jhonny Mateo earned a no decision after allowing two unearned runs on three hits over four innings. Stanley Martinez earned his first win of the season in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Domingo Leyba led the way offensively for the Tigers, going 2-for-4 with a double, two runs driven in and a run scored in the win.
