AAA Toledo Mud Hens
31-41, 4th in West Division
Starting pitching struggled for Toledo in Wednesday's game against Lehigh Valley as the Mud Hens gave up four runs in the third inning, falling to the Iron Pigs 10-6. Starting pitcher Ramon Garcia fell to 2-6 on the season with the loss, allowing seven earned runs on 12 hits over five innings. Jordan Lennerton led the way in scoring for Toledo, going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the loss.
AA Erie Seawolves
37-32, 1st in Western Division
Erie needed two runs in the seventh inning and a strong pitching performance in Wednesday's game against New Britain as the SeaWolves topped the Rock Cats 2-1. Starting pitcher Victor Larez improved to 6-3 with the win, allowing just one earned run on four hits over seven innings. Justin Souza earned his fourteenth save of the season in the win. Tyler Collins drove in both runs for Erie on a night in which he also hit his tenth home run of the season.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
30-38, 6th in North Division
Lakeland surrendered a one-run lead in the middle innings of Wednesday's game against Brevard County by allowing five runs in the fourth inning as the Flying Tigers fell to the Manatees 9-5. Starting pitcher Hudson Randall struggled in falling to 1-6 on the season, allowing eight earned runs on 11 hits over 5 ? innings. Corey Jones gave the Flying Tigers a boost offensively, going 1-for-4 with a two-run double in the loss.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
33-37, 4th in Eastern Division
West Michigan did not play on Wednesday.
A Short-Season Connecticut
0-2, 4th in Stedler Division
Connecticut struggled to generate much offense in Wednesday's game against Lowell, putting up just one run as the Tigers fell to the Spinners 5-1. Starting pitcher Preston Jamison earned his first loss of the season, allowing two earned runs on four hits in three innings. Curt Powell drove in the lone run for the Tigers on a sacrifice.
R VSL Tigers
13-18, 4th in Venezuelan Summer League
The VSL Tigers and Rays held a 2-2 tie going into the tenth inning before the Tigers scored a walkoff run, topping the Rays 3-2. Eduardo Jimenez earned a no decision in the start, allowing two earned runs on six hits over five innings. Alfred Gutierrez improved his record to 1-0 after earning the win in relief. Arvicent Perez had one at bat but it was a big one, driving in the game-winning run for the Tigers.
