AAA Toledo Mud Hens
34-52, 4th in West Division
Toledo's offense was once again stifled in Monday's game against Lehigh Valley as the Mud Hens could muster only three hit in falling to the IronPigs 7-0. Starting pitcher Derek Hankins fell to 3-4 on the season after allowing four earned runs on 9 hits over six innings. No Toledo hitter recorded multiple hits and Nick Castellanos was one of only two players to get an extra base hit in the loss, going 1-for-4 with a double.
AA Erie Seawolves
42-39, 2nd in Western Division
Erie scored a run in the second inning in Monday's series opener against Harrisburg and relied on excellent pitching to carry the load for the rest of the game as the SeaWolves topped the Senators 1-0. Starting pitcher Drew VerHagen improved his record to 1-2 with the win, giving up three hits over eight innings of shutout baseball. Melvin Mercedes came in to seal the victory, earning his second save of the season. Tyler Collins was the hero offensively, going 2-for-3 with a solo home run that would eventually count as the game-winner.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
33-45, 5th in North Division
Lakeland entered Monday's game against Brevard County already holding a 6-0 deficit through two innings as the two teams completed Sunday's rain-postponed game and the Flying Tigers could do nothing to overcome the deficit, falling to the Manatees 8-0 in a rain-shortened final. Starting pitcher Hudson Randall fell to 1-8 on the season with the loss, giving up six earned runs on six hits over 1 ? innings. Steven Moya was the only Lakeland hitter to record multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with a double. Devon Travis made his Lakeland debut as a pinch runner, going 1-for-1 with a double in the loss.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
38-44, 6th in Eastern Division
West Michigan continued to be in an offensive slump in Monday's game against Bowling Green, tacking on just one run and falling to the Hot Rods 6-1. Starting pitcher Edgar De La Rosa fell to 4-3 with the loss after allowing three earned runs on seven hits over five innings. Jeff Holm put up the only run for West Michigan, going 1-for-4 with an RBI in the loss.
A Short-Season Connecticut
4-9, 4th in Stedler Division
Monday's game against Lowell was postponed due to rain.
R DSL Tigers
16-8, 1st in Dominican Summer League San Pedro de Macoris
The DSL Tigers took advantage of a three-run fourth inning in Monday's game against the Blue Jays, prevailing in a 6-2 final. Starting pitcher Juan Alcantara improved his record to 3-0 with the win, giving up one earned run on four hits over five innings. Domingo Leyba led the charge for the offense out of the leadoff spot, going 1-for-5 with a triple and three runs driven in in the win.
