Toledo's offense had a monster game on Sunday as they put up 13 hits, eight of which were of the extra base hit variety. Down at Erie, the SeaWolves used solo home runs in the ninth and tenth innings to tie the game, and then win it in extras.

AAA Toledo Mud Hens – TOLEDO 9, CHARLOTTE 3
21-23, 4th in West division
Everything happened in threes for Toledo Sunday afternoon at Fifth Third Field. Ramon Santiago had three hits and the Mud Hens scored three times as many runs as Charlotte in a 9-3 victory that lasted exactly three hours. Timo Perez had three runs and three RBI and also recorded three hits bringing his season batting average to .333. Perez also recorded a home run, his blast was one of eight 'Hens extra base hits Sunday. Dennis Tankersley (4-2, 3.18 E.R.A) earned the win for the 'Hens, he struck out five batters in five and 2/3 innings. The 'Hens will face Charlotte at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Fifth Third Field.

AA Erie SeaWolves – ERIE 2, AKRON 1
22-17, 2nd in Southern division
Steve Torrealba hit a walk off home run in the tenth inning to give Erie a 2-1 victory over the Akron Aeros. The SeaWolves tied the game in the bottom of the ninth on a solo home run by Jeff Larish before Torrealba completed the comeback victory. Larish had two of the SeaWolves four hits going 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Danny Zell earned his first win of the season pitching two innings and not allowing a base runner while striking out four. Starting pitcher Eulogio De La Cruz pitched eight innings allowing five hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out six. The SeaWolves will be back in action on Monday at 6:05 p.m. against the Harrisburg Senators. Eddie Bonine will pitch for Erie and Harrisburg has not announced a starter.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – VERO BEACH 6, LAKELAND 2
18-24, 5th in West division
The Flying Tigers fell to the Vero Beach Devil Rays Sunday night, 6-2. Starting pitcher Luke French pitched five innings and surrendered six runs. He was then followed by Gabriel Benitez and Jacob Ramos who combined for three innings of one hit baseball. On the offensive side, Lakeland managed only three hits on the night, two of them coming from the bat of top prospect Cameron Maybin. The third hit was registered by Max Leon who batted 1-for-4 with one RBI. The Flying Tigers look to even their series Monday night in Vero Beach at 7:00 PM. Eleazar Aponte will most likely make the start for Lakeland, while Vero Beach’s pitcher has yet to be announced.

A West Mich. Whitecaps – QUAD CTS. 3, W. MICH. 2
23-17, 2nd in Eastern division

The Whitecaps dropped the final game of their series against the Swing of the Quad Cities Sunday 3-2. Jonah Nickerson (3-4, 4.41 ERA) took the loss, allowing eight hits and three earned runs over five innings, including a two-run double in the third. Gorkys Hernandez scored both West Michigan runs. He led off the game with a single, stole his twentieth base of the season and eventually came home on a force out. Then in the third, he led off the inning with a double and eventually scored on a Brennan Boesch single. Neither team scored past the third inning and West Michigan did not get a hit past the fourth inning. The 'Caps continue their road trip Monday with a 7:30 p.m. game at Beloit.
