According to ESPN, the Tigers and third baseman Miguel Cabrera have agreed on a new 8-year deal worth a reported $153 million, which would be the largest contract in team history.

The Tigers and Miguel Cabrera had been in contract negotiations on a long-term deal that would keep Cabrera a Tiger throughout the prime of his career.

According to ESPN, the Tigers have accomplished that goal, coming to terms with Cabrera on an 8-year contract extension, worth a reported $153 million.

The deal, if completed, would be the largest contract in Tigers history, both in average pay per season and in total value.
