The bullpen at the big league level isn’t the only one undergoing changes, as the Erie Seawolves and Toledo Mud Hens both had some changes in their relief corps. Check inside for details.

After Clay Rapada was called up by the Tigers yesterday, veteran left-hander Aaron Fultz requested his release from the organization. Fultz was signed at the end of spring training after being let go by the Cleveland Indians, and he is likely looking for a more certain path back to the big leagues.

Replacing Fultz on the ‘Hens roster is right-hander Matt Rusch, who was slated to start the season in Toledo, but was bumped to Double-A with the arrival of Fultz. Despite lacking the blazing fastball that catches eyes, Rusch has performed at a very high level in his time with the Tigers organization. Following an excellent forty appearance season for the Seawolves in 2007, Rusch got off to a rocky start with Erie this year. Having given up multiple runs in two of his four appearances thus far, Rusch will look to get back on track with Toledo.

Filling the spot vacated by Rusch will be right-hander Matt Righter. After a brief stint with Toledo this week, Righter was sent back down to extended spring training when Ian Ostlund came off the disabled list. Righter should provide a versatile reliever to Manager Tom Brookens, as he has the ability to work multiple innings if necessary.

As the rosters continue to change throughout the season, check back with TigsTown.com for all the details and analysis.
