Granderson to Return to West Michigan

On Thursday afternoon, the West Michigan Whitecaps, along with the Detroit Tigers, announced that Curtis Granderson will begin his rehab assignment on Friday evening at Fifth Third Ballpark with the Whitecaps.

Curtis Granderson originally broke a bone in his hand in the final week of spring training, and has now missed the first three weeks of the regular season. But after taking batting practice and getting some work in the field, Granderson is ready to return.

He will do so Friday evening at 6:35pm for the Whitecaps at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock, MI.

Tickets are available for tonight's game at the Whitecaps box office, starting at 7:00am.

Granderson is expected to play only one game for the Whitecaps, after which he could likely move to Toledo for a couple of rehab games there. That schedule however is still to be determined, and will depend on how well Granderson does in his first return to the diamond in nearly a month.
