Scott Sizemore will likely get regular playing time at third base, after appearing there on Tuesday night for Toledo. Sizemore, the Tigers starting second baseman to begin the season, has been at the keystone for the entirety of his Tigers' career, but did start a few games at third earlier in the year for Toledo.
Sizemore is likely the replacement for third baseman Brandon Inge, who was placed on the disabled list on Monday after suffering a non-displaced fracture in his left hand. He's expected to be out four to six weeks. Inge was placed on the disabled list on Tuesday, but was replaced on the roster by right-handed reliever Casey Fien, who was called up to provide some relief to an overworked bullpen.
Fien allowed three runs in two-thirds of an inning in the Tigers' 8-0 loss to Texas on Tuesday.
In 41 games for the Mud Hens, Sizemore was hitting .329 with 13 doubles, 6 home runs and 19 RBI with a .907 OPS.
In 30 games in Detroit before being sent down, Sizemore hit .206.
