The Mud Hens picked up another win on Saturday, topping Louisville 8-3. Charlie Furbush gave the club eight strong innings, giving up three runs over that span, walking one and striking out three. Robbie Weinhardt pitched a scoreless ninth to close the game out. At the plate, it was the bottom of the order that led the way, with Max St. Pierre, Shawn Roof and and Chris White combining for seven hits, two runs and six RBI. Michael Bertram also added two hits and scored three times.

The SeaWolves were hammered by Akron on Satudray, falling 9-0 to the Aeros. Jon Kibler struggled in his return to Erie after spending the past couple months in Lakeland, giving up seven runs on seven hits and six walks in four innings of work. Rob Waite did have a strong outing in relief, allowing one unearned run in three innings, but the Erie offense was much too silent to get the 'Wolves back in the game. Rawley Bishop and Brent Wyatt each had two hits, while Billy Nowlin added a double, but it wasn't enough to get a run across the plate.

Luke Putkonen led the way for the Flying Tigers as they picked up a 3-0 shutout win over Daytona. Putkonen earned his ninth win as he scattered four hits over 7 2/3 innings of work. Bruce Rondon recorded the final four outs to earn his first save in Lakeland. At the plate, Francisco Martinez had a perfect 3-for-3 day with a walk, a double, a run scored and an RBI. Jordan Lennerton and Alexander Moreno each added an RBI as well.

The Whitecaps magic number is now down to six as they extended their lead to four games with a 10-5 win over Great Lakes. Luis Angel Sanz picked up his fourth win for West Michigan, giving up five runs over 6 2/3 innings. Jordan Pratt went the final 2 1/3 innings to pick up the save. The 'Caps only went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position but benefited from six walks and four wild pitches. Jamie Johnson did have two hits including a double and two RBI, while Corey Jones also added a double and two RBI.

The CT-Tigers run atop the Stedler division was short lived, as Connecticut was shutout 10-0 by Brooklyn on Saturday, and in turn fell back out of first place. Rayni Guichardo got the start and took the loss but pitched well, giving up two runs in six innings of work. He also walked three and struck out five. However, Ramon Lebron had a rough outing, giving up five runs in 1 1/3 innings. Logan Hoch allowed three more runs of his own over the final five outs. Meanwhile the offense scattered just six singles, including two from P.J. Polk.

The GCL Tigers topped the GCL Phillies 5-3 on Saturday, as they wrapped up the 2010 campaign. Ariel Medina got the start and a no decision, giving up a run in four innings of work. Yadiel Polanco got the win for allowing two runs in his three innings of relief work, while Fernando Celis earned his first save of the year for tossing two shutout innings to end the game. At the plate, Javier Azcona fell a single shy of the cycle, with three extra base hits and nine total bases. Dixon Machado drove in a pair of runs for the club, while Nick Castellanos had a single and an RBI.
