AAA Toledo Mud Hens
32-47, 3rd in West Division
Jacob Tuner allowed two earned runs over six innings in his first start back with the Mud Hens. Turner gave up six hits, while walking three and striking out two. Ryan Strieby went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Matt Young went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Chris Bootcheck gave up a run in the ninth, but picked up the save.
AA Erie Seawolves
37-38, 3rd in Eastern Division
Ramon Garcia gave up three earned runs over seven innings and moved to 6-6 on the season. Rawley Bishop went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored, while Brandon Douglas went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, an RBI and two runs scored. Bruce Rondon pitched a perfect ninth for his third save with Erie.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
1-1, T-3rd in North Division
Tuesday's doubleheader was canceled due to rain as storms continue to cover Florida.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
3-2, T-1st in Eastern Division
Lance Durham went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead the West Michigan offense in a slugfest. After giving up six runs in the eighth, the Whitecaps answered with a four-run bottom frame for the win. Jeff Ferrell allowed four earned runs over three innings in the start. Daniel Bennett gave up two earned runs in that eighth, but picked up the win.
2-6, 4th in New York-Penn League Stedler
Connecticut's game at Vermont was postponed.
Angel Vasquez gave up nine runs (six earned) over three innings and recorded the loss. Orvin Tovar led the Tigers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. Carlos Perez went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Three relievers combined to give up seven runs (six earned) over the final six innings.
7-13, 5th in San Pedro de Macoris
Juan Falcon gave up three runs (one earned) in a four-run eighth as the Brewers came away with a late victory. Victor Ovalles went 2-for-3, while Felix G. Santana picked up the other Tigers hit. Rafael Manzanillo pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings in the start.
5-3, 3rd in GCL North
In the first game of the doubleheader, Fernando Perez gave up seven earned runs in 1 2/3 innings in the start and picked up the loss. Tyler Gibson went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Austin Schotts went 1-for-4 with a run scored. Yoel Espinal gave up three earned runs in 3 1/3 innings of relief.
In the second game, Jose Valdez gave up two earned runs in the top of the seventh and turned a save opportunity into a loss. Tim Remes went 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI, while Miguel Paulino went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
