Tigers "Got Their Guy" in Castellanos

When the Tigers drafted Nick Castellanos in 2010, people scoffed at the public notion that the club "got their guy" in the supplemental round, 44th overall. With a career .333/.382/.468 line entering play on Thursday, it seems the Tigers may not have been stretching the truth following their selection and the subsequent $3.45 million signing bonus.

Nick Castellanos entered the 2012 season as the number two prospect in the Tigers system, behind only the since departed Jacob Turner. With a sizzling first half in High-A that included a .405 batting average and an MVP performance in the Futures Game at All-Star weekend, Castellanos has seen his stock soar to new heights.
