AAA Toledo Mud Hens
35-53, 4th in West Division
Toledo held a 2-1 lead but gave up two runs in the sixth inning of Wednesday's game against Columbus as the Mud Hens fell to the Clippers 3-2. Starting pitcher Pat Misch fell to 3-6 on the season with the loss, allowing three earned runs on 11 hits over six innings. Jordan Lennerton continued heating up in the loss, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Danny Dorn also drove in a run on a 1-for-4 night.
AA Erie Seawolves
43-40, 2nd in Western Division
Erie struggled to generate any offense in Wednesday's game against Harrisburg, putting up only two hits as the SeaWolves fell to the Senators 5-0. Starting pitcher Matt Crouse fell to 4-7 with the loss after allowing three earned runs on four hits over five innings while striking out six. Eugenio Suarez was the lone Erie hitter to reach extra bases, going 1-for-3 with a double in the loss.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
34-45, 5th in North Division
Lakeland held a 3-0 lead in Wednesday's game against Tampa but nearly blew the lead as the Flying Tigers escaped with a 3-2 win over the Yankees. Kyle Ryan improved his record to 8-5 with the win, allowing unearned run on two hits over six innings. Jose Valdez earned his second save of the season in the win. Jason Krizan gave the offense a boost despite not getting a hit, going 0-for-2 with two runs driven in in the win.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
39-45, 5th in Eastern Division
West Michigan did little to get any offense going in Wednesday's game against Great Lakes as the Whitecaps were shut out by the Loons 8-0. Endrys Briceno fell to 4-6 after earning the loss in the start, allowing four earned runs on seven hits over three innings. Jason King and Connor Harrell each went for extra bases, each going 1-for-3 with doubles in the loss.
A Short-Season Connecticut
4-12, 4th in Stedler Division
Connecticut jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in Wednesday's game against Lowell before the Tigers gave up six unanswered runs, falling to the Spinners 10-3. Starting pitcher Jonathon Crawford earned a no decision after allowing two earned runs on four hits over 2 ? innings. Hunter Scantling earned his first loss of the season in relief. Brett Harrison led the way for the Tigers out of the designated hitter spot, going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the loss.
R DSL Tigers
17-9, 1st in Dominican Summer League San Pedro de Macoris
The DSL Tigers were tied with the Yankees 2-2 before scoring a run in the top of the ninth inning, topping the Yankees 3-2. Starting pitcher Carlos Lara earned a no decision in the win after shutting out the Yankees on four hits over five innings. Harold Rosario improved his record to 2-1 after earning the win in relief. Jesus Guzman earned his second save of the season in the win. Manuel Joseph was the only Tigers hitter to drive in a run, getting a sacrifice RBI as a pinch hitter.
R GCL Tigers
4-2, 2nd in Gulf Coast League
The GCL Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in Wednesday's game against the Pirates and held on despite a late charge, topping the Pirates 5-3. Starting pitcher Fernando Perez improved his record to 2-0 with the win, allowing one earned run on three hits over five innings. Ricardo Ciriaco earned his third save of the season in the win. Jose Zambrano led the way for the Tigers out of the leadoff spot, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs driven in in the win.
R VSL Tigers
20-22, 4th in Venezuelan Summer League
The VSL Tigers relied on strong pitching and timely hitting in Wednesday's game against the Phillies, topping the Phillies by a 4-2 margin. Starting pitcher Eudis Idrogo improved his record to 4-1 with the win, allowing one earned run on six hits over five innings. Johan Belisario earned his sixth save of the season in the win. Adrian Alfaro was the leader on the offense for the Tigers after going 2-for-3 with two runs driven in and a run scored.
