Three Steps for the Tigers Trade Deadline

The Tigers have played the 2014 season in three distinct parts. First they played like the best team in baseball, then they played like they were gunning for the number one pick in the draft, and then they returned to playing like a team destined for late October baseball. With two weeks before the deadline, the Tigers are in need of help if they’re finally going to win it all.

If you blend all three parts of the Tigers’ season together, their 53-38 record is good for a .582 winning percentage and baseball’s third best record. They have a six and a half game lead on the Royals, seven and a half on the Indians, and 10.5 on the Twins and White Sox.
