Around the Horn: Trade Deadline Edition

This year's trade deadline proved no disappointment as several big trades took place around the league. Scout.com analyzes all of the ramifications.

Mark Teixeira, easily the biggest name dealt Tuesday, reacts to his new situation in an audio interview.  As it turns out, Teixeira Is Thrilled to Be in Atlanta.

On the other side of the trade, the Rangers received the top Braves prospect as ranked by Scout.com this offseason.  Rangers fans will want to see this Q&A and Scouting Report of shortstop Elvis Andrus.

The Padres were among the most active teams in July, having made four significant deals last month.  All of the turnover has Shaken Up The Farm System, with several players changing levels.

Often times, the biggest news at the deadline comes from playoff contenders who did not make a move.  While deals can still be made in August, it isn't as easy to execute, and teams must often address any issues from within their organization.

The Diamondbacks Stood Pat Before a Key Stretch against the rival Padres and Dodgers, each of whom made moves to improve their clubs.  Can the D-Backs compete by making an August deal as they did last year?
